What's with THE one?!

Ok, so this is what I hear and may have said from time to time: "girl Im waiting for THE one." "Yea man she aight, but I don't think she's THE one." Actually one of my Facebook statuses said "Everybody talking about this being "boo season," yea I feel you. Im just wanting one boo for ALL seasons and reasons more. Temporary fixes are just that..temporary" SO what is it with this THE one business?

Don't get me wrong, Im all for marriage and everything that comes with it, but I was reminded today that we as women aren't even supposed to be looking. (Can somebody say SATDOWN ladies? lol) When I read this statement, I was dumbfounded, shocked, and even more attracted to this unknown person with a well full of wisdom (Big Sigh- I digress! :) ) Anywho, the proverbial light bulb came on. We are focusing on the wrong "THE ONE." I mean really who wants someone that is trippin over themselves, just to feel that warm and fuzzy feeling inside. OR how do u feel when someone is always popping up in your presence. We have our nice moments and appease them for a minute, but lets face it in our heads some are saying "ugh you AGAIN :-/ I, even I, yes, ME have to take a deep breath when my favorite, lovable pets come running demanding my attention. Is that what we do when we are intrigued by someone? Think about it.

Now after saying ALL of that(did it make sense? Huh?) I'm thinking maybe just maybe we could focus less on THE one(guy/girl) that we hope with all our hearts will become our husband or wife, and notice the OTHER ones. For instance, finishing school, a poem or picture you started, NOT going off on someone annoying, or perhaps finding an outfit WITHOUT anyone's help(that's me!) maybe even a great conversation with a good friend, or seeing your growth as a person. For me, starting this blog is one of my OTHER ones.

I believe seeing  ALL the LITTLE things(ones) that happen in your life gives you more to talk about and will help you appreciate THE one so much more. As suggested by a friend of mine: Look at what you're looking at.

Be easy :)

Life certainly should not be about waiting on just one person to come along. Life is meant to be lived while enjoying all of those little things. I like your thought on the "other" ones!

  3. I enjoyed reading your friends blog. However, the part about being reminded that "we as women aren't suppose to be looking" mmmm...I mean, personally (me being single) if I attend a party or event where I know their will be men I'm certainly hoping they're looking, because honestly thats what we want and are hoping for. Realistically, theirs nothing wrong with putting yourself out there!

  4. Yeah, I know that's how I was raised and I try to apply those same principle's especially raising a 16 yr. old daughter. Letting her know theirs nothing wrong with showing interest, just always try and remain a lady! Be decent and respectful.

I am glad to see that the light bulb finally went off. All young ladies need to get this revelation. Men are to find a wife. Proverb 18:22 "He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the LORD". Women once you give up looking for Mr. Right aka The One and focus on The Real One aka God you just might be surprised who God will send your way. God has so many blessing just for you. It is time for you young ladies to stop blocking your blessings. Simply Golden has spoken some words of wisdom for all you young ladies and men to take note of and adhere to. Now that you have been informed, act accordingly. There are no more excuses. I pray for continued wisdom, wealth/riches, strength and power for Simply Golden and all the single young women and single men. Be a Blessing and Be Blessed
